Article Icon 1Wolf Deaths to Prompt Review

Six of the 15 wolves translocated from Canada in January have died, pushing the group’s survival rate below the critical threshold outlined in Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s (CPW) reintroduction plan.

Two of the wolves were killed when they crossed into Wyoming. The causes of four in-state deaths, including one on May 31, are under investigation.

According to CPW’s reintroduction plan, an early survival rate below 70% will trigger a protocol review. Studies show that mortality rates above 30% could lead to “conservation failure and biological extinction.”

CPW confirmed it will review its procedures once it establishes the wolves’ causes of death. The agency is also monitoring potential dens for wolf pups to add to the state’s total.

Article Icon 1Economy Among Best, Despite Shortfalls

Despite rising unemployment and the cost of starter homes topping $1 million in some areas, Colorado’s economy is currently among the best in the U.S., according to a new study.

The report ranks Colorado’s economy as No. 10 overall based on 28 key indicators, including change in GDP, personal income, cost of living, and business growth.

Though Colorado ranked near last in many areas—like exports per capita and unemployment—it came in at No. 4 for innovation potential, surpassed only by Massachusetts, Washington, and California.

Thanks to its foothold in fast-growing tech sectors and a healthy startup ecosystem, Colorado has a “solid foundation for long-term innovation,” an analyst for the report writes.

Article Icon 1Family Seeks Help Finding Gnome

A Colorado Springs military family is seeking the public’s help in finding a sentimental “roaming gnome” left behind at Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Kate de Best says the gnome, Norman, was a gift from her husband Guido’s late father. Norman has joined the family on trips and accompanied Guido on military deployments, with his adventures documented on Instagram.

After realizing they left Norman behind, the de Bests checked with the park service and returned to search the dunes, all to no avail—hence their public plea for help.

With Guido’s next deployment approaching, the clock is ticking to find Norman. The family thinks he may be in a blue hiking backpack left near the park’s picnic area.

Sharing Homes Made Investors Rich. Sharing Data Could Be Bigger

Remember when people said, “Nobody will rent their homes to strangers?” Early Airbnb investors who ignored the skeptics saw $1,000 grow to $5 million at the company’s IPO.

Airbnb grew to $100 billion by unlocking value in homes, and now Mode Mobile is doing the same with an asset owned by 7 billion people—smartphones.

Instead of renting spare rooms, Mode users monetize their screen time:

  • Over 45 million users earn from everyday activities (games, music, charging)
  • Helped users save and earn over $325 million

And with their Nasdaq ticker ($MODE) secured, you now have a limited time to invest at just $0.30/share

Here’s how to invest and even earn up to 100% bonus shares.
