MyPillow CEO Defamation Trial Begins

The federal defamation trial of Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, began in Denver on Monday.

Lindell faces a lawsuit from former Dominion Voting Systems executive Eric Coomer, who alleges Lindell falsely accused him of rigging the 2020 presidential election.

During jury selection, potential jurors were asked about the Jan. 6 protests, President Trump, and Lindell’s public persona. Twenty were dismissed, leaving an eight-person jury.

Tina Peters, the former Mesa County clerk convicted of election interference, is expected to testify in the trial. Lindell confirmed he will also testify, saying he has “nothing to hide.”

Opening statements were delivered on Tuesday. The trial is expected to last through June 10.

DHS Detains Bombing Suspect’s Family

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed on Tuesday that the family of Mohamed Soliman, the suspect in Sunday’s firebombing at Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, has been taken into immigration custody.

Soliman, an Egyptian national, told police he lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and five children. While his visa expired in 2023, his family’s legal status is unknown.

In a post on X, Kristi Noem said DHS is “investigating to what extent the family knew about this heinous attack.” The White House stated the family could be deported as soon as Tuesday night.

In Boulder, the community is still responding to the attack. JEWISHcolorado has set up a fund to support the victims, three of whom remain in the hospital.

Moose Attacks Prompt Warnings

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is warning the public to be on high alert after three moose attacks were reported between May 30 and June 1.

The attacks occurred in Fairplay, Grand Lake, and Steamboat Springs. In one case, the moose was killed in self-defense, while in another a woman was hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to CPW, the risk of attack is heightened during calving season, which lasts through early summer, and by the presence of dogs, which moose perceive as a threat.

Since 2019, CPW has recorded 22 moose-related injuries. Officials recommend hikers keep dogs leashed, avoid low-visibility areas, and turn around if a calf is spotted.
