Article Icon 1Broncos OLBs Coach Arrested

Denver Broncos outside linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of second-degree assault of a police officer.

According to court documents, an officer working on curb assignment at Denver International Airport confronted Wilhoite for leaving his vehicle unattended. This led to an altercation where Wilhoite verbally abused and physically bumped the officer.

The situation escalated when Wilhoite punched the officer, causing him to fall. He then drove away after the officer tased him.

Appearing in Denver County Court on Monday morning, Wilhoite was informed of his charges. A Denver magistrate set his bail at $500.

Wilhoite—who previously held coaching roles with the Saints and Chargers—was rehired by coach Sean Payton in 2023 and has played a key role in developing standout players.

Two bulldog puppies were stolen from Perfect Pets, a Centennial pet store, on Friday—the latest of several shoplifting stunts targeting the store.

Security footage of the theft shows one suspect faking a seizure to distract employees while the other grabs the puppies and runs for the exit.

Puppy theft is a recurring problem at Perfect Pets. Earlier this month, two puppies were stolen—a miniature Bernedoodle and a Cava-Shih Tzu mix—with a woman placing one of the puppies in a baby stroller.

The store is offering a $4,000 reward for the puppies’ safe return and the arrest of those responsible.

After a long stretch of subzero cold fronts, Colorado is experiencing a late-February warm spell, with forecasts predicting sunny weather and highs in the mid-60s for most of the week. A brief temperature drop is expected tomorrow, along with strong winds this afternoon.

However, meteorologists warn that this is only a “fake spring”—a short-lived but common warm-up that occurs every five to seven weeks around this time of year. Temperatures are expected to fall back into the 40s by early March, with more snow likely.

Denver’s snowiest months are still ahead, as March and April typically bring the heaviest snowfall, with totals expected to exceed half a foot.

Spring officially begins on March 20, but sustained 60-degree temperatures aren’t likely until April—and even then, snowfall remains possible.
