Article Icon 1Aurora Becomes Next Target in ICE Crackdown

Federal agencies, led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), are conducting large-scale immigration arrests in three U.S. cities weekly, Aurora being the latest target starting this morning.

ICE operations in Aurora will utilize facilities at Buckley Space Force Base to process and temporarily house detainees.

It’s reported that ICE aims to arrest between 1,200 and 1,500 people daily.

These ICE actions coincide with Denver-area DEA raids targeting gang and drug-related crimes, resulting in arrests and seizures linked to the Tren de Aragua gang and Sinaloa cartel.

A Colorado bill banning the manufacture and sale of semiautomatic guns with detachable magazines advanced through its first committee hearing after an eight-hour session on Tuesday.

Senate Bill 3, sponsored by Democratic Sen. Tom Sullivan, advanced 3-2 along party lines in the Senate State, Military, and Veterans Affairs Committee.

Supporters argue that the measure will enforce existing magazine capacity limits and reduce mass shooting damage.

Opponents, including Rocky Mountain Gun Owners and several county sheriffs, argue that it infringes on constitutional rights and have pledged to mount legal challenges. The bill now heads to the full Senate.

Article Icon 1Snow Forecast for Southern Areas of State

Parts of the state are waking up to a snowy and slippery morning commute following a winter storm that moved into the region Wednesday night.

A low-pressure system over southern Colorado is forecast to deliver 6-12 inches of snow to the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, creating hazardous conditions on mountain passes like Wolf Creek and Red Mountain.

Snowfall totals in the Denver metro area remain uncertain, with most forecasts predicting heavier accumulation south and east of the city.

Conditions are expected to improve by Thursday afternoon, with warmer, dry weather expected into the weekend.
