Article Icon 1Minnesota Shootings Raise Security Concerns

In the wake of shootings targeting two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses, Colorado officials are moving to more closely guard the personal information of elected leaders.

Over the weekend, Secretary of State Jena Griswold temporarily shut down TRACER, the state’s public campaign finance database, to give officials time to decide whether to remove their addresses and contact information from the site.

At least 31 officials filed requests to do so. Griswold said her office is processing the requests and anticipates TRACER will be back online soon.

Senate President James Coleman said the legislature is working closely with law enforcement to review security protocols and ensure the safety of lawmakers and staff.
