Article Icon 1Park Hill Park Opens, Deal Revised

Park Hill Park, Denver’s fourth-largest park, opened to the public with limited access on Tuesday, one day after details of a revision to the city’s land-swap deal became public.

The deal, finalized Oct. 2, entailed swapping $12.7 million worth of land with Westside Investment Partners. Appraisers found fiber lines beneath part of the city’s 145-acre parcel, reducing its value.

Mayor Mike Johnston confirmed the city added 20 acres and $900,000 to make up the difference, trading a total of 165 acres—plus the money—to acquire the 155-acre former golf course.

Because there was no “material change” to the contract, Johnston said, the revision didn’t require a city council vote. Some council members say the move lacked transparency.

Design and development of the park will start in 2026.

Three weeks after a fire destroyed Nederland’s Caribou Village Shopping Center, many of the 22 impacted businesses have started to rebuild, thanks largely to an outpouring of community support.

A set of GoFundMe pages has raised just shy of $425,000—a figure that doesn’t include several cash donations, gifts, and discounts reported by some proprietors.

Very Nice Brewing, which has received nearly $30,000 in donations, plans to reopen alongside Brightwood Music in a new mini-mall. Mountain Man Outdoor Store debuts its new storefront tomorrow, with much of the replenished stock donated by locals.

More fundraisers supporting the businesses are planned in the coming weeks, including one hosted Saturday by Eldora Mountain Resort.

Multiple events this weekend will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the United Flight 629 bombing, a tragic and nationally significant chapter of Colorado’s history.

On Nov. 1, 1955, John Gilbert Graham planted a bomb in his mother’s suitcase, plotting to kill her for insurance money. Just minutes after departing Stapleton International Airport, the plane exploded over Weld County near Longmont, killing all 44 occupants.

Until this year, there had been no permanent memorial for the event. A first-ever memorial honoring the victims and first responders will be dedicated Saturday in Denver.

Around 100 people, including descendants of victims, are expected to attend the dedication. Other events include a memorial service, a panel discussion, and a History Colorado exhibit.

This method has been vetted by scientists from University College Cork.

Their studies, conducted on 674 women with deep wrinkles, dark spots, and sagging skin, clearly showed that by simply doing this for 10 seconds in the mirror, they dramatically improved their appearance in under a few weeks.

This odd method is so effective that scientists have deemed it to be 10 times better than retinol, but with none of the side effects.

Just watch the video below and see how easy it is to look 10, 15, or even 20 years younger:
