Article Icon 1Giuliani, Dominion Settle $1.3B Lawsuit

Rudy Giuliani has reached a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in its $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit over claims surrounding the 2020 presidential election.

Dominion sued Giuliani in 2021 after he made statements to news outlets, on social media, and during legislative hearings alleging the Denver-based voting machine company conspired to rig the election.

The two sides said in a brief court filing Friday that they’ve agreed to permanently dismiss the suit. The settlement terms, including the amount of money, are confidential.

Dominion previously reached settlements worth $787 million and $67 million with Fox News and Newsmax, respectively, in similar defamation suits related to the election.

An Aurora woman is among three indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly stalking an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in California on Aug. 28.

Ashleigh Brown, 38, is one of a trio of anti-ICE influencers accused of following the agent from downtown Los Angeles to his home, filming him and his wife, and revealing their address in a livestream.

The women are charged with conspiracy and unlawfully disclosing the personal information of a federal agent. If convicted, they face up to 10 years in prison.

Brown, who is charged in a separate case with assault on a federal officer, is in federal custody without bond. She’s scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

Article Icon 1Leaf Traffic Shuts Down Georgetown

Heavy leaf-peeping traffic created gridlock conditions in Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, forcing the town to temporarily close to visitors.

Deputies set up a blockade on Interstate 70, turning away Georgetown-bound traffic for about an hour and a half and allowing only those with proof of residence into town.

At the same time, an Xcel Energy outage shut off power to more than 2,200 Georgetown-area customers, leaving several businesses without electricity for hours amid peak foot traffic.

The small mountain town can see as many as 20,000 to 30,000 visitors per weekend when the leaves start to change, town officials said.
