Trump Picks Colorado CEO as Energy Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump plans to nominate Chris Wright to lead the Department of Energy.

The Liberty Energy CEO, who founded the Colorado-based fracking company and has contributed significantly to Trump’s campaign, also serves on the board of a Silicon Valley nuclear reactor startup.

If confirmed by the Senate, Wright would oversee the nation’s energy supplies, nuclear power, and 17 national laboratories while joining Trump’s new Council of National Energy.

Environmental groups have criticized the choice, citing Wright’s statement that “there is no climate crisis,” while Republican leaders praised the MIT graduate’s experience in the energy sector and role in the U.S. fracking boom.

Polis Backs RFK for Cabinet Role

Gov. Jared Polis expressed support for President-elect Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services Secretary, citing Kennedy’s positions on lowering drug prices and challenging pharmaceutical companies.

His comments drew criticism from Democrats due to Kennedy’s anti-vaccine stance and health theories, which they deemed controversial.

Polis later clarified his commitment to vaccines and science-based health policy but acknowledged potential policy alignment in areas like FDA reform.

I-25 Southbound Express Lane Closing for 2 Years

The southbound I-25 express lane between Johnstown and Berthoud will be closed from Nov. 22 through 2027.

During this closure, traffic will shift to northbound lanes, with a head-to-head configuration between Highway 60 and Highway 56.

This closure is part of the I-25 North Express Lane Project, which includes concrete paving in both directions, reconstructing the Weld County Road 34 interchange, and adding new 12-foot express lanes.

Drivers can expect 10-15 minute delays and should follow posted detours during construction.
