We’re So Close. This Is the Moment.

We’re entering the final stretch of our campaign to reach 2,000 reader-investors, and we’re closer than ever. Eleven days ago, we set out with a simple but ambitious goal: prove that everyday Americans—not corporations or political machines—can build a trustworthy, independent newsroom together.

Today, we’re within striking distance.

If you’ve been thinking about investing…If you’ve been waiting for the right moment…
If you’ve wondered whether your contribution truly matters… This is that moment.
Every new investor helps strengthen something rare in American media: a reader-owned outlet committed to honesty, fairness, and fact-first reporting. Reaching 2,000 investors means more state editions, and more accountability—without compromising our independence.

We are so close to showing the country that a different kind of media company can exist—and thrive. But we can’t finish this without you.

If The Flyover has earned your trust, we hope you’ll take that final step with us.

Article Icon 1State OKs Western Slope Water Deal

State water officials on Wednesday unanimously approved the Western Slope’s controversial $99 million plan to acquire Colorado River water rights for environmental purposes.

Under the agreement, two key water rights will be co-managed by the Colorado River District (CRD), which represents 15 Western Slope counties, and the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

At the proposal’s long-awaited Nov. 19 hearing, major water providers pushed back on the plan, worried it gives the CRD too much sway and could impact upstream water supply for millions on the Front Range.

The deal still needs final approval in the water court, where some of its central conflicts will be settled. The CRD is also waiting on federal funding to complete the purchase. If it clears those hurdles, the agreement will last indefinitely, with far-reaching implications for water use statewide.

The largest methamphetamine seizure in Colorado history has led to the indictment of 15 people, federal agents announced Wednesday.

Prosecutors said a two-year, multi-agency investigation led to the seizure of 1,115 pounds of meth, including 700 pounds discovered in a Lakewood home believed to be a lab. The largest stash was hidden in boxes of chayote squash.

Of the 15 indicted, 11 are in federal custody, with the other four believed to be in Mexico. One of the defendants, an alleged drug kingpin, is charged as the group’s leader.

The operation is part of President Trump’s Homeland Security Task Force initiative, which aims to eliminate cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations.

The free 11-minute shows will be held at 7 p.m. every night through Dec. 31. Some of the best viewing spots include the Tivoli Quad, Sculpture Park, and 54Thirty Rooftop.

The shows are a part of Visit Denver’s Mile High Holidays program, which also includes Zoo Lights, Blossoms of Light, and Christkindlmarket.
