Question: Before it was renamed in 2023, what was Mount Blue Sky called?

Answer: Mount Evans after John Evans, the second territorial governor of Colorado. The U.S. Board on Geographic Names changed the name to honor the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes and distance the landmark from John Evans’ role in the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre.
