Why Invest in The Colorado Flyover?

1. Grow the Colorado newsroom and impact.
Your investment helps us expand the Colorado team, deepen our coverage, and reach more readers across the state.

2. Keep it reader-owned.
We believe Coloradans—not corporations—should shape the news they rely on.

3. Low minimum, big impact.
We’ve lowered the minimum to $500, making it easier for more Coloradans to become co-owners of the journalism they trust.

4. Protect honest reporting.
Your support keeps us independent, fact-first, and focused on fair, balanced coverage for Colorado communities.

A Quick Note

When we launched The Colorado Flyover, we hoped the state would embrace a trustworthy, unbiased source of news. We didn’t expect so many of you to stand with us. But today, over 106,000 Coloradans get their daily news from The Colorado Flyover.

Your investment in The Colorado Flyover will send a clear message: honest journalism still matters here.

We’re 200 investors away from 2,000 reader-owners, and Colorado’s shares are just 10 reader-investors. Stepping up now could put us over the top.

Article Icon 1Ethics Commission to Investigate 17 Democrats

The Colorado Independent Ethics Commission voted Tuesday to advance complaints against 17 Democratic state lawmakers who attended a retreat in Vail the weekend of Oct. 4.

The complaints allege the legislators violated a ban on elected officials receiving gifts when they accepted a $25,000 block of hotel rooms paid for by a “pro-business dark money group.'”

The group, One Main Street, is a nonprofit that doesn’t disclose its donors. Under the gift ban, a nonprofit can pay for reasonable expenses, but only if less than 5% of its funding comes from for-profit organizations.

If the commission finds the ban was violated, the lawmakers could face fines and be ordered to return or reimburse any gifts.

Article Icon 1Skydiving Company Linked to 7th Death

A parachutist died Sunday after a jump with Mile-Hi Skydiving in Longmont, marking the seventh death linked to the facility since 2018.

The parachutist, a 60-year-old man, was qualified to make solo jumps. Witnesses say his parachute appeared not to fully open during the descent.

The six previous deaths at Mile-Hi, which occurred between 2018 and 2024, account for nearly 7% of all skydiving deaths recorded in the U.S. in that period.

Many of the fatalities involved “highly experienced and qualified skydivers,” the company said in a 2019 statement, explaining that seasoned jumpers often take on new, higher-risk challenges.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death. The man’s identity hasn’t been released.

Article Icon 1Storm Brings Mix of Rain, Snow

A brief storm lasting today through tomorrow may leave a few inches of snow in the mountains, but an end to Denver’s record no-snow streak isn’t likely.

Instead, up to half an inch of rain is expected to fall in the city, possibly mixing with snow by Friday morning. The chance of measurable snowfall is about 20-30%.

By contrast, snowfall in the high country could total anywhere from 1-3 inches in the central and northern mountains to 4-8 inches in the Sangre de Cristos and San Juans. The Front Range, including the I-25 corridor, is expected to receive mostly rain.

If Denver does get snow on Friday, it will tie for the city’s second-latest first snowfall on record. The latest came on Dec. 10, 2021.
