Article Icon 1Thousands Attend Boulder Jewish Festival

More than 15,000 people from across the country gathered for the Boulder Jewish Festival on Sunday, the largest turnout in the festival’s 30-year history.

The festival featured music, Israeli and Jewish cuisine, and speeches from Jewish community leaders, who called for unity in the wake of last Sunday’s terror attack targeting the group Run for Their Lives.

Organizers reimagined this year’s event to focus on healing and raise awareness for the 55 Israeli hostages still believed to be held in Gaza. Hundreds participated in the group’s Sunday walk, which usually draws a couple of dozen.

Boulder police coordinated with the FBI to provide increased security. While some attendees expressed unease, many, like festivalgoer Simcha Schwartz, emphasized the importance of showing up to “respond with joy and action to hate.

Article Icon 1Australian Hacker Held by ICE in Colorado

David Kee Crees, an Australian hacker extradited to Colorado in 2023, was arrested by immigration authorities shortly after his release from federal detention.

Also known by hacker-alias DR32, Crees defrauded at least seven victims, mostly in the U.S., while living in Australia. He pleaded guilty to 14 charges in May and was sentenced to time served and one year of supervised release.

“ICE Denver agents arrested Australian alien David Kee Crees because he has multiple computer fraud convictions,” the agency said on X. “He will be held in ICE custody pending removal to Australia.”

No charges have been filed against Crees in Australia. Prior to his extradition, Crees had reportedly embedded microchips in his hands, setting off prison metal detectors, according to an Australian news outlet.

Article Icon 1Summer Produce Weeks Away

With hot, summer-like weather starting to settle in, many are wondering when Colorado’s signature summer produce will be back in stock.

Palisade peaches, a Western Slope favorite, will hit shelves in early July. As in past summers, they may appear at smaller stores, farmers markets, or roadside stands before they reach grocery chains.

Olathe sweet corn season begins mid-July. Rocky Ford melons arrive later that month, while Pueblo green chiles, a southern Colorado staple, are expected in early August.

Some Colorado-grown crops, like leafy greens and early-season fruits, are already in season. See a full produce calendar here.

Meet the Genius Who Invented Plastic That Dissolves in Water

The world produces 450 million metric tons of plastic waste each year. Microplastics are seeping into our oceans and food. They even show up in our bodies. So you can imagine how revolutionary a new kind of plastic that completely dissolves in water would be.

Here’s why you don’t want to miss this opportunity.

  • Revolutionary plastic that vanishes completely—no microplastics, no landfill waste.

  • 6,000% sales growth in the company’s first month on the market.

  • $1.3T market opportunity across packaging, 3D printing, and more.
